Purple Lizard designed and built the Channel 4 Family Tree completely from design to implementation. Generally Channel 4 uses their own designers for projects such as FilmFour and E4. Purple Lizard have either built components, small sections of the website, or stepped in at the last minute to help out.
James was involved in the graphic design and the creation and maintenance of the jsp code (the frontend code only James was working with Java developers who created skeleton functionality to display the information in rough HTML. James' job was to make the JSPs look like the designs and update them on the server).

Channel 4 have put this site live at: www.channel4.com You can also see some static versions of some of the pages here: home page, tree view, tree view2, edit profile (if the live site isn't working at the moment)
This screen shot shows the actual Family Tree centered on the particular family you are looking at. You can see further details about people in the tree and move the locus to other people allowing the user to 'tree walk'. Channel 4 want to create a Family Tree for the nation by encouraging as many people as possible to join and to allow people to join their trees to other peoples.
At the moment Channel 4 have not put this site live but in the meantime you can see static versions of some of the pages here: home page, tree view, tree view2, edit profile
Sky set-top box integrated to Purple Lizard J2EE applications
Purple Lizard built the Sky voting engine for Big Brother 2 & 3. They tried to capitalise on this to break into the Waptv market and the screens shown here are marketing demonstrations.

James designed and built these applications using WML to write the JSP's to interface with the J2EE architecture.

There where web based admin tools as well as web, WAP and PDA interfaces to the voting applications.

A content page - one of Ansbacher's local offices.
Purple Lizard have been working with Ansbacher for over a year, mainly on the background banking infrastructure and the Java interface to it.
The first product to be released however was the Ansbacher brochureware site - pictured here.

James designed this with guidance from Ansbacher's advertising agency and their in-house image consultant, their web presence had to match their clean high quality brand. The banking and fiduciary products that form the backbone of this website will follow in the future.

For more information see the website www.ansbacher.com
In the meantime a banking product has grown out of the design and infrastructure to take advantage of current financial opportunities

Tripleplay Services Ltd
James and a colleague built this website in 2 weeks as a favour for a friend who was starting his own business.

The client knew exactly what content he wanted to convey and had it all ready so the site creation process was very rapid.

The site is straight HTML with one mail form so no back-end functionality was required.

Purple Lizard eventually took over the support and maintenance of the site and James project managed this process.

Purple Lizard was brought in at the last minute to help with the forthcoming FilmFour website.

James was creating graphics in the style of the site and integrating them into the JSP pages.

An example screen of the registration process is available here
